I have tried this package several times including a couple when I had been warned of undesireable software in my HD - Nothing.

Has it ever worked for you?

Thanks,

RMD

As far as I can tell, it works for me. I get messages from time to time telling me not to use or go to a website. I get a few messages wanting me to buy an upgraded version, which I have no interest in doing. I only use the free version.

Personally, I've been fine for several years just using Defender that comes with Windows.

I've also been happy with the version that comes standard with Windows.
The aftermarket stuff just seems to cause issues and slow things down without adding anything that I need or want.

Been using it since it came out.
Have cleaned many a computer and made lots of money doing it.
Now days, needed less that the good ole days when simple virus's were rampant.
Now more security across the board and the only real threat is ransomware and that is almost always a self-inflicted wound.
However, MWB id effective and maybe the best there is, IMO.

MWB works for me. I use the free version on my MacBook. Once a day I:
* disconnect from the Internet
* run a MWB scan
* backup my Mac *1
* reconnect to the Internet
With that process I know that all of my backups are clean.

*1 Assuming a clean MWB report. After many years I’ve never seen one that wasn’t clean.

I've used it for several years and I'm happy with the results, no viruses no malware and while I seldom click on links there were a few times it blocked me from going to an unsafe website. I think its just an extra layer of protection in addition to my anti virus software.

Used it over the years but always as a second opinion. I rely primarily on Superantispyware.
Find it much lighter.

All these programs have fans and detractors. Do not worry too much. As smschultz said, these programs used to be more relevant in past times, hardly any more.

I use mainly ccleaner health check these days as my first line of defense. Run Superantispyware weekly but just the fast scan. I also run Privazer.
My antivirus program is either Windows Defender, Avast or Avira. Different computers.

Responsible use is your most important protection.

Malwarebytes has several different software options. For your computer it's a good antivirus software, seems NOT to cause trouble as Norton, McAfee and other seem to.
Malwarebytes also offers scam blocking software for the iPhone. I use both it and Verizon Call Blocker.
I use the paid version of both.

Thanks all. I have used it on and off for several years and have yet to have it detect something. Maybe the MS security is just that good.

Thanks again.

I bought a Malwarebytes license back when you paid once and then the license was valid in perpetuity. Naturally, I still use MWB, because the pro version is free for me. If you buy a Malwarebytes license these days, it's good for one year only before renewal is required. I layer it with the free version of Bitdefender, which is good at blocking suspicious sites (which is also a strength of MWB). I also have Microsoft Defender enabled and run full disc scans weekly. These days, you probably need only Microsoft's firewall and Defender.

On a Mac or Linux OS, I couldn't tell you.

Like many I used Malware Bytes for years and found it useful. I have not used it for ten years now because MS' built in anti-virus got good.
