Where there's smoke, there's fire!! |
Going to Disney World and Universal in December. We stayed on property at Disney when the kids were younger. Now my youngest is 16, then my 20 year old, 23 year old and her boyfriend. Don’t think I can afford two rooms on property and since we are going to Disney and Universal I don’t think it would be practical anyway. Any advice on where we should stay? Rent a condo or a house?

Check airbnb. Renting a condo or house would be best bet. _______________________________________ NRA Life Member Member Isaac Walton League I wouldn't let anyone do to me what I've done to myself

The area around Disney Springs is nice. Cheaper than on-property and not much loss of convenience.

My kids prefer Universal. The hard rock is “onsite” with water taxi access. Very convenient and good for older kids. “Forigive your enemy, but remember the bastard’s name.” -Scottish proverb

If you are eligible, "Shades of Greene". At least 50% cheaper than other on-property places. We were just there last month, very nice. If you are spending all or almost all of your time at Disney, on-property has advantages.

Not trying to sound like a dick but what has this got to do with my question? Did you read what I posted?

If you did want to stay on Disney property look at Disney Vacation Club resorts. You can get studio, one bedroom, two bedroom and in some areas three bedroom units. You can rent Disney Vacation Club directly from Disney reservations. You do not have to be an owner. If you are looking to rent a house look in the Davenport area. There are a lot of short term rentals and in most cases not to long of a drive to Disney depending on the time of day and traffic, Universal might be a much longer drive from the Davenport area due to traffic. Not sure of rentals near Universal. There are some other multi room time shares all around Disney that might also accommodate your needs. You might want to try getting in touch with a travel agent who might be able to point you in the right direction. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Serenity now! |
We took our four kids to Orlando last Christmas - ages 13 - 21, and stayed here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24295232 This house was perfect for our family, everyone loved it! We had our own pool, there was plenty of space in the house, and it was very conveniently located. We were about 20 minutes from Universal, 15 minutes from Magic Kingdom. Our girls keep talking about how much fun we had on that trip. It was probably the funnest week of my life. Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice. ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ

We found the onsite hotel deals with passes to be cheaper than airbnb. Summer is off season so good deals. You said you’d be going to Universal. We did the same search and landed there. I’m saying don’t give up on onsite until you check it out - not trying to be a dick but help. “Forigive your enemy, but remember the bastard’s name.” -Scottish proverb
