I did search for Dallas implosion before I posted, in case someone beat me to it.

I always wonder about going back into such a building that didn’t collapse as it should to climb around setting new charges. “Uhh …, boss, I’m feeling a little poorly and won’t be in for a few days.”

I wonder what that dark stuff is pouring out of the right side about 2 stories from the top after the blast?

Good question. I hadn't noticed it till you pointed it out.

Oh heck to the NO!!! Interestingly, the outer shell came all the way down, and that inner box dropped a few floors, but didn’t come apart. I wonder how they will approach that. I wouldn’t want to go in the building, I wouldn’t want to get close enough to the building to reach it with an excavator. Maybe a wrecking ball from a distance, but you’d have to have a lot of clear room to be far enough away to be safe and swing and hit it. I’d guess if that was even possible you’d start at the top and chip away at it. Maybe some kind of robot that can crawl over the rubble and into what’s left to drop more charges?

I don’t think OSHA’d be cool with sending anyone in even if you could find someone crazy enough...

Just make sure you have on your Personal Protective Equipment. I'm thinking a hard hat, dust mask, safety glasses and don't forget the steel-toed boots. All set to would in there. Big Grin

Evidently this section of the building housed the elevator shafts- more steel or less charges used?
