Klavan speaks for half an hour and it is well worth your time. After that, there's a Q&A, also worth your time, but if you watch only a portion of this, watch the first 35 minutes. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

Wait, what? |
Well worth the time to listen to. The speaker clearly explains a lot of our problems today are a result of the loss of morality pushed by people that should know better. In fact, that deep down DO know better. Morality is not a condition born of upbringing, religion, or societal positioning. It is an internal compass we all have. Klavan is absolutely right- we all know when something is truly wrong despite being socially accepted. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I watched the whole thing. He's a very bright and articulate guy. I'm gonna follow him and check out some of his fiction also. When a thing is funny, search it carefully for a hidden truth. - George Bernard Shaw

Yes, and what this means is that there is hope for the human race still. It may take a couple of generations for the course correction to take place, but if you accept Klavan's interepretation, we are not yet sunk. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

Just watched the whole video, and was very impressed with his thoughts and insights into the moral condition of todays society. It is refreshing to hear ideas and thoughts that many of us here share, spoken out loud without the rage and outright hate of the opposition trying to silence the speech. People today seem so timid and afraid to speak there minds and stand up for what they know is right. Supressing that moral compass that is built into our basic building blocks, and the mental gymnastics it takes to do so, I beleive will always fail. It will take much to get there, and the ultimate cost paid will most likely be very high, but the truth will ultimately win out. The human spirit will always strive for freedom from domination from others. There will always be some that cannot handle the responsibility of their own freedom and will be willing to follow blindly. But, I beleive there has always been and will always be more that desire that freedom and responsibility to help right the ship and continue the journey that has been set before us. That process of righting may take years or generations, but it will happen. ETA: Just saw Para's post. Took me awhile to write my post, but it echo's his thoughts and post as well. Thanks for having this bastion of sanity and keeping it as real and open as it is. This is a great place to be able to hang your hat for a bit of good conversation and sharing of knowledge. Much appreciated. It's all about clean living. Just do the right thing, and karma will help with the rest.

It's funny, the wife and I were just talking about this yesterday...thinking there is no hope. People are ruder, more self-centered, unhinged, doubling-down on failed methods of thinking. The arrogance of man seems to be accelerating. But then we watched this...the whole hour. And now have some hope that there will be an intellectual awakening...and realization that morals matter...and are an essential building block for our republic and the human kind. When we accept that morality is essential to liberty and that everyone's liberty is affected by others' morality, we might just save the constitution and culture of this nation. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier
