I think it would have been much wiser to have his trunk monkey take care of the scammer.

Nothing quite the same as this, but - a little story from over here - this one has a happy ending, though.

A safari park in the West Country had a large parking area - the usual charge at the time of the denouément was £5 for a regular car and £20 for a tour bus. This particular weekend, Easter, if I recall correctly, it was jammed full of holiday makers by midday, but the attendant, who took the money and dished out the tickets, helped by his son and daughter-in-law, were nowhere to be found. Even worse, the entry gates were closed - there was, of course, an exit gate around the corner.

One irate driver got on to the safari park management and complained bitterly - '

'We've come over a hundred miles today to see the animals, and we can't get in and the kids are going ballistic!'

'Not our problem', quothe the park rep, 'he's employed by the town council, not us. I suggest you call them and let me get on with the couple of thousand visitors here...'

The driver did so, with little hope - it was, of course, a holiday weekend, with nobody back in the town council offices until Tuesday - Easter Monday is a public holiday here in UK.

Having waited patiently until Tuesday morning, he called up the town council offices, only to be put in a calling queue, and about 20 minutes later, got to talk to a council car park rep.

'I guess you're calling up about the safari park attendants, right? Well, they are employed by the safari -park - nothing to do with us in any way.

Hmmmmmmm.

Later investigations showed that since renting the couple of fields about ten years previously, and using them for parking, the fake attendant and his family had netted well over £3/4 Million in fees. Nobody ever heard from any other them again...

And it is said that enterprise is dead.....

Well I guess that’s one less scammer, but is $40 worth literally murdering someone and going to prison for the rest of your life?

The shooter went back to his car to retrieve his pistol before giving chase. He’s a prosecutor’s wet dream.

Excellent post, apprentice. You have achieved journeyman status in my book. I'm still laughing.

IMO Death is a bit harsh for that scammer. It would have been much smarter to shoot the scammer in his Junk. Any DA looking at a case where a long time serial scammer gets his family tool removed will plea bargain this case from Assault down to a parking ticket. Means it's a win for society and a win for the shooter.

I've stopped counting.
