I need to replace the journal cross and bearing plate assemblies for the universal joint from my bush hog, below.

Does anyone know the manufacturer and where parts might be available?

I had to do this with my old Howse shredder this summer. Call the shredder manufacturer and give them as many numbers from the U-joint and shredder body as possible. Customer Service should be able to help you based on that. The pics I sent also helped identify what I needed.

Turns out Howse is very consistent with U-joint part numbers based on the width of the shredder, not the model or year. Your shredder company may follow the same convention to reduce mfg cost.

BTW, I tried to match the trunnion, cup and bearings from O'Reilly and Auto Zone, but they couldn't match the interior snap-ring groove location.

I'm not sure about tractors but in the automotive world u-joints have a pretty decent standard. Outside clip, inside clip, etc. The sizes are denoted by a "series" within the retention type.

If you can't find the specifics for you machine you may be able to remove it and measure it.

Looks like Eurocardan is the manufacturer. The yellow color and the stylized 'e' is the clue.

I had their PTO on my KingKutter 'bush hog'.

The '4', I think, is the 'size' of the series.
