Great real life story of decency.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I had a similar experience. A young man in the neighborhood has been very helpful to me while I was recovering from an accident.
He an X-ray guy at a local hospital that is swamped with the virus patients. He has been under a lot of stress while working a lot hours. I knew his wife had recently bought a 9mm handgun for protection while she and their 2 young kids are home alone while he is away.
She hasn’t had her pistol very long so I didn’t know if she had very much or any ammo.
I mention the short supply of 9mm to him, but before I could offer to let her have a box or two of the good stuff, he said he knew about the scarcity and offered to let me have a couple of boxes since they had about 500 rounds of that particular caliber. He also asked me, “How are you fixed for 12 ga. buckshot or 5.56 ammo?”
I thought that was very neighborly.
We live in a semi-rural area and I reckon it would be a good idea to call before dropping by to see them. Smile

Good to know there are some decent people left on this rock. After 20 years working robbery/homicide and crimes against persons, seeing the inhumanity many are capable of, I view every human I encounted with skepticism.

Also, having been a 2A proponent and practitioner for over 5 decades, I tell you sincerely that the people I have encountered in the gun shop during the last three weeks, do NOTHING for the cause.

The 1st timers and the liberals and antis who suddenly discovered they needed a gun, have an excuse. But the mouth breathers, hoarders and socalled "gun people" have no excuse. Not one person gave a shit for anyone other than themselves. Rude, self centered, stupid and greedy. Sad.

The good news is we will be seeing them again in 6 or 7 months. When they come trying to sell us the LNIB guns they bought in panic, which they couldn't afford and the cases of ammo which they didn't need/use.

This whole shit show, media driven, has shown me how easily the thin veneer of "civilized society" is stripped away. God help and bless the few good folks out there! Regards 18DAI
