So I got my new Mac Mini. I just started learning iMovie. I have no idea if this hobby will go anywhere. I don't travel enough to do a travel vlog. But the Lazy River video below is very specific to people wanting to go to this resort and see the lazy river (we didn't find any detailed videos of it when researching).

The bar video was a joke of sorts when my wife got me the GoPro. Now if I decide to make cocktail vids I'll probably need a different camera and a microphone and well, some kind of catch to get viewers. But anyhow it's a start with plenty for me to learn. I have more free time lately so something new to learn...

These go to eleven.

I'll hit the subscribe button. I'm already subscribed to SIG4EVA's channel.

Here's mine: https://youtube.com/c/HomespunEffects

Hook a brother up with a subscription. It doesn't cost anything.

I use a cheap BOYA by-M1 Lavalier Microphone. It just plugs into my iPhone and it greatly improves the sound. Ok video with good sound is better than 4k cinematography with poor sound. Also, better thumbnails will get you more clicks. I put my face in them and people still click. Wink

I subscribed to you all. I started making some gaming videos but have not uploaded in 3 or more years. Maybe I’ll get back into it. I’ve got a repair video for a Ford Explorer I need to edit too and upload.

I'm addicted to the "barn find/will it run/lets pour gas down the choke of this _____ that hasn't run in 20yrs" channels (Vice Grip Garage, Mortske Repair, Junkyard Digs, Sleeperdude, etc.). Anything you need to learn in life there are at least 3 Youtube videos about. I've Youtube mechaniced multiple fixes to my cars saving lots of time and money along with firearms disassembly/reassembly.

Wait, are you the One-Armed Un-Boxer because the camera is in the other hand or do you actually only have one arm? Dr. Kimble is looking in your direction right now.

The camera is in the other hand. It doesn't work too well do to disability, but it's there.

The name is also a take on the Jimmy Wang Yu Kung-Fu movie character The One-Armed Boxer.

You still do lawn service, right?

I probably get 10 to 20 feeds of guys that are video recording them doing professional lawn services, once guy stops at homes that haven't been taken care of, in many cases seniors without anyone to help them, and videos a big clean up of a messy unkempt yard.

They seem to get a ton of viewers...

^^^This. I get these feeds all the time and have watched a bunch of them. I also like the 'helping hand' aspect of these types of videos, and apparently I'm not the only one given the number of subscribers these guys have.

Yeah, one guy in town does a lawn care channel he has a ton more views and subscribers than I have. He told me he had to remove unfavorable reviews to keep sponsorships. I'm not willing to compromise in that way. Lawn care isn't exactly a passion and I don't do electronics videos for views or ad money. More like a service. Something I wish I had when I was a youngster.

Besides, my lawn service is mostly spreading fertilizer and killing weeds. Neither of which would make a compelling video. Big Grin

It might, be entertaining, play the guitar and sing a song about fescue and crabgrass, maybe toss in some helpful hints on how and when to put stuff down

That's really cool Mark and I've found your videos really informative. I've been trying to make myself learn guitar. Tinkering with the effects is really neat to understand how they work.

I made my channel out of the love of my car and racing. There is very little content of people actually racing my car, just a lot of show cars. I would love to make a little money on it just to support the habit (track days are expensive) but its primarily a passion. I realize I may have to branch out a bit to get the kind of range necessary which is fine as long as it stays centered on what I love.

Thanks for checking out the videos. I finally got that stupid Gibson to stay in tune.
