2015 Honda CR-V

I’m thinking of getting a used 2015 Honda CR-V EX-L. Any advice you have would be great. Looking at 20k price range and something that has more passenger room than my 08 Escape.

I don't know about the 2015, but my 2002, while it could seat four, and had impressive storage/carrying capacity, was not a comfortable ride for my 6'4" frame. It was also a fairly noisy ride.

I cannot speak ill of the vehicle. It did me right during the entire ten years I owned it. But I was not sad to see it go.

They completely re-did the 2017 CR-V (I bought one in May). Much more cabin room, better gas mileage, (I average 32 mpg with the 1.5 Turbo), much quieter and smoother ride, much improved and quieter CVT, they made huge improvements to the AWD as well. Plus, the 2017 offers all the new safety features such as blind spot monitoring, lane mitigation and a bunch more. These things actually work and have saved my butt once or twice.

Just something to think about.

We had a 2012, traded it in on a 2017 several months back. AWD model...They are solid performers and fairly bulletproof. But I agree with Bassamatic... Our 2017 is FAR away better than the previous Generation.

FWIW, we bought a base model 2017 CR-V last Spring. It was $25k off the lot. Just something to consider, you get the warranty & all.

We have a 2013 model and like most Hondas, it has been bulletproof. I think as a rule, Honda brakes are kinda week and at 75 mph roadnoise can be high.

I wish our EX-L model had the following items:
Garage door opener
Passenger power sear adjustment
Driver A/B settings
Power rear lift gate

Friend had one like your considering. I'd pass on it based on his short tenure of ownership. It was decent in his estimation but he fairly shortly bought the more modern new generation of the acura version. The CRV was not too cushy.

What is the leg room like, in the driver seat?

I am 6'3" but out of proportion: my legs are extremely long, 37" inseam, I am mobility limited due to hip injury, so driver seat leg room is my # 1 criterion when thinking about a vehicle to buy. Head room is never a problem for me, it's the legs.

wife has a 2009,
she will not part with that vehicle until it will not run any longer,

it has been relatively trouble free, and currently is at about 180K,

it does have road noise, like most Hondas, and short wheelbase and 4x4 makes for a bumpy ride on some surfaces,

We've got a 2012 that we really like. We just tried out a 2017 and I didn't like the feel of the CVT at all. Check when they switched.

I had assumed that the switch to CVT was to make engines more efficient, but some researched showed they are actually less efficient but car companies are switching to them simply because it is cheaper to make, with fewer precision parts (gears!) .

We just turned a 2015 back in from a lease.. I could have bought it for 16500.. We have had 4 crvs.. But switched to a Chevrolet equinox.. And love it

Right now is the perfect timing to buy a new leftover 2017 with all of the rebates and superior financing.

In Oct 2016 I got .9% financing on a new 2016 CRV. That's almost free money! Also got a $500 credit for being retired military.
