I’ll beep an eye on this. Our 1996 Kenmore is still working, but I feel life for it is limited.

Of course they are.
I just plunked down nearly $2K for a new set of the 7000 model.

Wish I'd spotted those videos first...FML.

I don't think Brad is on here anymore. I searched back into last year and only found him commenting up until about mid-November.

Bummer! He’s a good guy. Helped me in real life, just because. Hope he’s okay.

I didn't watch the videos. IIRC Brad has said SQ was going to all the electronic water-saving stuff as everybody else and there would be no real advantage to buying one.

This is why I scrambled in mid-January to purchase 2017 models, which were extremely hard to find in Dallas-Ft Worth. Apparently I wasn't the only one out there searching for one. I did find a mis-matched pair; dial washer and electronic panel dryer. Our appliance store still has them in the warehouse holding them while we move into our house, delivery next week. My wife is excited, no more coin laundry washing.

I have mid 80's relay controlled Kenmore's and ANYTHING needed to repair them is available at a local appliance service supply center. I plan on keep those Kenmore's going until I'm toes up.

I've stopped counting.

Has anyone confirmed the rumor Speed Queen is getting out of the residential market?

My wife called our local dealer where we bought our Speed Queen Washer last year. They said there is no truth to this rumor - in fact, Speed Queen is expanding its home line, and is building a new plant in Wisconsin. They did say Speed Queen is changing their line up - so some of the same models may be changed.

Yeah, we just bought a 2018 Speed Queen washing machine...derp. The drum spins without a brake like in the video. We kept the old Maytag dryer so the carpet doesn't match the drapes. Still works better than the dead Maytag we had. Oh well.
