I agree. I don't believe that bridge commission will publicly release video that incriminates them.

Right, but one can certainly figure it out. The video in the link to the news report shows where the toll is collected and where the movable bridge deck is located....And where the bridge operator would be located. I've never driven over this bridge, but based on my 'expert analysis' of the video, you pay the toll and drive no more than three car lengths and you're on the movable bridge deck....The operator is right there!

Yeah, the toll collector got complacent. Those toll takers have been there my entire life...they can just peek out the side.

Looks like he cruised past complacency and took a turn onto the criminal negligence highway. He's really lucky there are no serious injuries or deaths.

This is why cars need airbags on the outside.

If that happened to me the last thing I would do would be to try and jump it. He's lucky he didn't kill everyone in the vehicle. How about throw it in reverse and back out of the situation.

Come down here. We have plenty of drawbridges and they get stuck a lot. Several of them would allow a running start. Maybe the casinos could sponsor you. Several years back one of the gambling establishments hired Robbie Knievel to jump over a bunch of buses with his motorcycle. It drew a large crowd.

Not sure how those bridges work but backing down may have not been an option.

That's what I was thinking....there had to have been a car behind him or something. That bridge sometimes has a mile backup.

If he didn't have enough forward speed, he could've gotten the rear wheels caught on the deck and just fallen backwards into the water as the deck continued to rise.
