Just wait a few years and some bastard law firm will be on TV saying "If you have been insulted by mindless insurance ads you may be entitled to compensation. Call now to see if you qualify." Awake not woke

I worked in the life and health insurance industry (new business and underwriting) for many years. My friends know I rage against the common “elder care” life insurance commercials. To begin with, if your house is paid for and you have done estate planning, you likely don’t need life insurance, especially if your kids are grown and self-supporting. The implications in the commercials is that your kids (or someone)might be responsible for your debts after you die. NOT TRUE. Unless somebody cosigned a loan with you or you and your spouse are in a community property state and have debts, NOBODY else is responsible for your debts. If there are insufficient assets to pay your credit cards or whatever other debts, too bad, so sad. There is a reason the industry calls these policies “pine box specials.” Very expensive coverage. On any life insurance policy the total premiums at age of death (typically age 100 or even higher) equals the face value. you only “win” if you die younger than the average age. When you take out policies when you are “aged” you pay a very high premium..
