Well, you're safe with your chords then, you only have to use two of them to play any song. Wink

Not that anybody should be interested, but my favorite band has changed over the decades I've been listening to music. These days when I think back to those that have held my interest the longest I keep coming back to Steely Dan, Dire Straits. and The Cars. But, really, when I think back, I am overwhelmed by all the good music I have been exposed to over the years. To get a comprehensive list of my favorites I'd have to divide it up over spans of a couple of years, something I will not bore people with at this time. I've got a few boxes of vinyl LPs laying around somewhere, and more then one of 45's, I guess I could pick out my favorites by the wear on the covers and labels. Might be fun, but I've got enough time sinks in my life already.

If I had to pick only one, then it's the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

Otherwise, there's The Cars, Tears for Fears, Artie Shaw, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Boston, Van Halen, Hootie and the Blowfish (hometown band), Benny Goodman, and Harry Connick, Jr. And I love me some Sam Cooke.

Toss up between Beastie Boys & Beach Boys. I know its two very different genres but I could give plenty of reasons for either.

I'd like to meet you and buy you a burger. Except for Hootie, this list is pretty much my tape/CD collection. Plus a lot of Led Zep

Thinking about the band that I had the deepest passion for in my youth and still like today, I say Led Zeppelin.

Well it was a Monday, so yes I played Walk Like an Egyptian and they laughed hysterically. Now thinking back, I did The Bangles a disservice by playing their biggest hit. I could have picked, the obviuos choice, Manic Monday and those kids might have gone on to listen to other Bangles songs. That was like judging Dire Straits based on Money for Nothing or the Talking Heads on Burning Down the House.

From this point forth, I shall endeavor not to play any band's seminal hits for impressionable minds.

Doobie Brothers.

They just keep getting better with age, go see them in concert in person if they are near you.

To that, I'll add The Eagles (of course), The Moody Blues, War (70's Rock Band) Steely Dan, Boston, Kansas.

This is probably obscure enough you've never hard of them: Jive Bunny and the Master Mixers.

Mark123, wouldn't have it any other way. I will say I enjoyed Hardwired to Self Destruct and loved seeing them in concert 2 years ago.

I really love the first 3 albums. Master of Puppets is an absolute masterpiece.
