Tough one, but Led Zepplin and Alice In Chains (with Layne Staley) would be 1 and 1A. Not necessarily in that order.

Whole lot of other stuff in between. Iron Maiden, Skynyrd, Drive By Truckers, Marshall Tucker, Whiskey Myers to name a few.

The Black Crowes are my favorite modern band. Plenty of bands that are better and that I dearly love (The Band, Little Feat, Stones, Beatles, Floyd, etc) but I've seen the Crowes 25 times or so.

The usual British guys:

#1- The Beatles, followed by The Kinks, The Stones, The Who.

As far as American, The Replacements.

KISS.

Not even close. I've seen them live 25 times since 1987, when I first converted to KISStianity.

While I listen to lots of 60'-80's music, I love listening to DEVO! Whip it good!
