Put me down for a week of Jennifer Lawrence.

I am sorry, Jennifer is out of stock. We will be sending over Amber Heard instead. I assume that is ok?

Hay2baleI surely hate to disagree with some of you nice fellows, but in my experience, there is some negotiation room in new car pricing.
Back in August of last year, I ordered a new Ford Maverick hybrid pickup. I have been waiting impatiently ever after. Ford Mavericks seem to be trickling out of the factory - just not the one I ordered.
So while perusing the dealers' internet sites, I noticed that a nearby dealer had a non-hybrid Maverick in stock. So I called, and the dealer would gladly sell me the truck - for a $10K markup over the $25K sticker price. I declined the offer, and the sales consultant spoke to his manager and offered to sell me the vehicle at a low, low $9K markup. I offer this as absolute proof that one can negotiate new vehicle pricing.
It sure looks like I'll be driving my 2004 Mazda pickup for another few years.
