Do You Wear A Morning Robe?

lastmanstandingDo You Wear A Morning Robe?
Years ago the wife and I used to really get into buying plush comfortable robes that we would put on after getting out of bed or the shower. I recall we actually bought a pair of robes from a resort we stayed at in Maui that we really liked and paid a good amount of money for. We would wear them until usually after breakfast and then change into whatever we were wearing for the day. Somewhere along the way we just stopped doing it. Don't think it was really a conscience decision the habit just kind of went away. Thought of it today when I found that robe from Maui tucked away in the closet.
The idea of wearing one now doesn't even appeal to me.

Real men are hairy enough that a robe is redundant?

400mIf I’m lounging on the weekend and I’m cold then yes. But normally I’d rather just wear some shorts and a t-shirt.

RogueJSKNope. Haven't even owned a robe since I lived in the dorm back in college, where I had to traipse down the hallway to the communal bathroom to take a shower.
If I'm just lounging around the house, I'll wear gym shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt or a sweatshirt, depending on the temperature.

mrvmaxIt’s too hot where I live to have anything on that is not necessary. If I lived in a cold climate, maybe. I’m wearing shorts and sandals today…….

ArtieSI have a couple of them, and prefer them when showered and watching TV in the evening.
Because of the horse farm, I generally shower in the evening, and will wear the robe after.
I also have a proper silk kimono which is one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing that I own, and will wear that in the colder evening weather.

tatortoddWhen I lived in Alaska and Canada, I'd put on a robe for a few minutes after showering until I got dressed. It was a real rarity that I left the master bedroom suite in the robe.
Since moving to Houston, it's been years since I took it off the hook.

AnubismpNo but I will throw a blanket over my shoulders or put a beanie on if its cold.

egregoreNo. The closest I get is a hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants. (The sweatpants are not hooded.) And then only in cold weather.

John SteedI read recently that you will sleep a lot better if you keep the room temperature dialed down. It has worked for me. It got to the point where I just keep the house cool all the time. We will see if there is a noticeable difference in our energy bill.
So in the morning before getting dressed I wear a robe. Sometimes I will wear it in the evening as well.

Rey HRHI, too, bought robes for my wife and I when we stayed at a Ritz Carlton. Maybe, I’ve lounged in it once or twice. I feel more comfortable wearing my black leather chaps and yellow silk cravat.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
