No worries. We are going to do all of that. Want him to put on a bit of weight first. He's pretty skinny.

He's skinny, scared, more accepting of TBG than me, terrified of sticks (shovels, pitchforks, etc., the kind of stuff you use in a barn).
He's afraid of both men and any stick-like object in their hands.
Sometimes hunters - who are overwhelmingly men - use abusive discipline on their dogs, such as hitting them with sticks. My brother acquired a Bluetick Coonhound under similar circumstances. He - a dog named Boo, seriously - was practically afraid of his own shadow for years afterwards. This message has been edited. Last edited by: egregore,

^^^^^^That is my assumption. Kindness, patience, and feeding are already making a difference.

If he's got hookworms and/or whipworms, he'll put on weight faster after treatment.

^^^^^This is true. He's not the first foundling we've had, and the last one, Lucky, was a little football full of them when we got him.

I agree. ArtieS will give him what he needs and will be a great friend. We had a snow white kitten show at our house 3 years ago. We live in the country and couldn't figure out how she got here she was tiny. After searching our cameras we figured God sent her.
