rburgMy sleepy little town has had a mass shooting
OK, we sometimes have a shooting or two. Now we've had a mass shooting. 4 folks, 3 of them kids. Of course they were "minority's". It goes with the territory. The media doesn't want to point that out, but showing pictures its hard to disguise. The one adult "victim" was one of the 2 shooters, the other one 17 and they haven't caught him yet. But they will. Hard to hide.
As usual, the folks pretending to be reporters gave no gun information. We don't and probably never will hear who shot who. That's not important because the important message to them is that guns are bad. It was mentioned that the adult had felony convictions, and the 17 YO shouldn't have had a gun. Except their favorite gun law would prevent them from having a gun....
So back to the important things. I hate the biased media. They should require the reporters by line to include (D, WKRC)

EdmondYou already know the demographic if the media doesn't immediately blast out "white male shooter" and uses the word "teen."

P220 SmudgeI looked it up and definitions of "mass shooting" seem to vary. There's a 2005 FBI report that says four excluding the shooter. Saw something about three or even two excluding the shooter. Differences on whether it includes killed or if wounded qualifies.
Maybe it's just me, but when I hear "mass" with anything to do with a group of people, it's not two to four people. "Small gathering of people shooting" or "Just a couple of people shooting" just don't roll off the tongue the same way.
