Right in the middle of the home office revolution where everyone and their cousin is buying home office headsets.. Base looks operable, headset is still sending commands to base, just no sound.

I've been running a Plantronics 745-M mono dual battery headset, it connects to Desktop phone by hard wire, BT to cell phone and if I wanted, USB to the PC for computer phone based apps.

Looking for options, since it's been a few years as to whats good. I can still order another 745-M, it has dual batteries and live battery swapping so you don't drop calls which is a plus.

Looking at the Plantronics SAVI 8200 series, or Jabra 75 series, mono is ok, don't need stereo.

So I'm interested in feedback on units in the market today.

Must haves:

Ability to connect to BT and Desk Phone
Don't Zoom or Skype but it would be ok to have
Day long battery use or swap battery
DECT
ANC
Range, 400-500 feet, which seems to be the norm.

Here is the 745-M base and headset, general BT only headphones won't work, has to have a microphone and connect via wire to the phone from base, current wired phone isn't BT. Thats another discussion

I have a Plantronics (now Poly) Voyager Focus UC Standard. Bluetooth to base and multiple devices, wired USB from the base. Was provided by my employer as I was selected to be part of the "pilot" for moving to this model.

Company ended up going with Jabra, so I have a Jabra Evolve 75, too, but it's sitting in my office...which I haven't been to since early March.

Between the two, I've had less issues with the Plantronics. Heavily used for Webex, Teams, Skype, Jabber VoIP. Battery on both lasts all day, but I do return them to the base when I'm in between calls, so it's charging during down time.

I am running the same headset you are.

I have had several others provided at work and like mine best.

The 8200 I think is the same system, just with a two earpiece headset.

I prefer the single.

I brought my Sennheiser home from the office recently. I work out of the garage in the back of the property off the alley, and I was doing yardwork while on a call. I was doing all the work in the front of the house, so many walls in between, and it sounded perfect.

After gathering branches, I went back, got in the truck, drove around the block, gathered the branches, and kept driving around the rest of the block to park off the alley again. Only lost signal at the farthest point, which was 6 houses away.
