If you see me running try to keep up |
So I notice that on all the social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram etc.) many companies, including the one I work for, post about all the great things they are doing. Basically social media is free advertising so they can brag about all that they are doing in the community. I get sick of my own employer doing it but all the rest do the same, constantly posting articles of how they gave this away, or volunteered in the community, picked up trash along the highway or saved some abandoned puppies. If you do things just to tell others then why do it at all? If I help someone I do it because I truly want to help them, not so I can tell everyone how great I am for doing it. Most posts from corporations that I see are purely patting themselves on the back. I am not referring to posting about how your product solved a major problem, or why your invention saved millions of lives, or even why I should use whatever you are selling. I am speaking purely of the stupid posts bragging about what little thing you did in the community. I am not impressed but maybe others are. What say you?

Watch the tube. Everyone on it wants to help me as long as I keep spending money with them. After all, "we are all in this together". End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I am sick of these commercials about staying safe and eating no contact food. I am also tired of the Risky Business dance routine formerly performed by a young Tom Cruise. Back in the day SCTV or Mad TV would do a spoof of these commercials. Corporations have no soul and could really give two shits about people.

Don't Panic |
It is free PR, and I have no issue with it. If they are going to spend corporate resources (money, products, employees' time, etc.) then trying to maximize the benefit of that expenditure makes complete sense.
