A friend of ours, who's a known sucker for any animal in need, got roped into rescuing some kittens found in the neighborhood. When she got there two of the kittens had already passed and two others were not looking good. On the way to the vet another passed, and the last one was barely holding on. The vets were able to get her stable, but it was going to be a rough couple of days and the kitty would need food and meds every three hours.

My wife volunteered to take care of the cat while it needed such intensive care as my friend just doesn't have the time. So for three weeks, my wife was taking care of this little girl that weighed next to nothing 24/7. She had a hell of an appetite and she started getting some energy and strength back. She sure was cute, but we were determined to give her back.

After about four weeks, she no longer needed attention round the clock. We had discussed keeping her, but neither of us felt a connection. The day we were taking her back to our friend, Little Miss piled on the cuteness big time. She did the big eyes thing, crawled up into my lap and fell asleep (which she had never done previously), purred when petted (previously reserved for eating only) and never once used her teeth or claws on us. We were going back and forth on what to do when she hopped up on the bed and peed right in front of us. Decision made, she's going to go find a different home to live in.

While in the care of our friend, my wife would occasionally go over and play with her for about an hour or so out of guilt. Well, I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder, because we volunteered to take her again since our friend have to go out of town this week. I think we both knew we were keeping her without saying it.

She is a little hell raiser. She loves to sneak attack toes and shoe strings are her mortal enemy. She is fast, like really fast. We are still trying to keep her contained while we acclimate our dog to her, but somehow she goes from across the room to next to the door in an instant when we are trying to get out. Her claws are sharp, sharp, sharp and her teeth a like little daggers. She loves parkour! But she is cute and she wants to be near us. For about 15 minutes a day, she is very, very loving...then all of a sudden she's in attack mode again. She also is very easily manipulated by food.

We are still trying to decide on a name. For now we just call her Little Miss. My wife has suggested Eleanor Kitty (Elle for short) and CATana (mortal kombat reference to her claws).

I'd like to officially welcome my new feline overlord to the family:

The best cats just show up, no purchase necessary. The cat always adopts the human, and there's nothing you can do about it. I have one sitting next to me right now, going on 18 years. We did not seek him out, he placed his order for a human family and his total time from order to fulfillment was for all practical purposes instantaneous. It's a hopeless situation and there's nothing you can do about it. Enjoy yours, it's a privilege and she knows it.

Cute kitty.
Doesn’t really matter which name you give her first. She will have 7 or 8 more as you get to k ow her.

You both hit the lottery. Congratulations on many years of happiness. My suggestion is to buy a litter robot. It's the only way to go.
