“Skepticism about climate change has resurfaced, as some experts claim the exact causes of global warming remain unclear and that the policies addressing it are motivated more by money than by science. Richard Lindzen, Professor Emeritus of Meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has spent decades studying atmospheric science. He told the Daily Mail that the public hysteria surrounding global warming isn't actually based on realistic data. Climate change is the term used to describe Earth's warming, mainly as a result of human activity, such as burning coal, oil and gas. Scientists and climate activists have warned that this extra warmth could cause more extreme storms, rising seas that flood cities, and hotter summers that make it harder to grow food worldwide - all within the next 25 years. However, Lindzen said the financial implications of controlling the multi-trillion-dollar energy industry have been the true motivation for politicians to support flawed research that argues small temperature increases will lead to immediate disasters. 'The fact that you have a multi-trillion dollar industry and you have an opportunity to completely overturn it had a great appeal to a lot of politicians,' he explained. 'They go wild on it. Another half degree and we're doomed, and so on. The public knows this is nonsense.' Lindzen explained the basic math behind what he called 'climate alarm.' He said the emphasis on lowering specific emissions like carbon dioxide (CO₂) simply doesn't produce the worldwide temperature changes advocates say it will. …” DailyMail article: https://mol.im/a/15236133 Serious about crackers.

Back in the '60's or so, even before the climate cooling version of climate change, being against pollution by itself was enough. Who can argue with that? ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Throughout all the earths history its temperature was a perfect 70 degrees. Then one day evil greedy capitalists started the industrial revolution and broke the thermostat. Obviously the only way to repair it is through high taxation, loss of property and liberty, and of course, more government. You know, the usual way all of our problems are fixed. They all want millions now to fix a problem thirty years later that nobody remembers anyway. We are currently in a time when we are supposed to have snow as a faint memory, all of the ice has melted from the poles, with a gigantic hole in the ozone and it is supposed to be 987 degrees everywhere. Now where did I put my hockey stick graph...

About 50 Years ago they said we were entering a new Ice Age. I remember 12 inches of ice around my boat docked on Percy Priest lake in Nashville. About 40 Years ago I remember on Super Bowl Sunday at 3pm my thermometer reading -23F. This was all because of the coming Ice Age. __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! Sigs Owned - A Bunch

Sooooo, to all of the “world is ending” in 10 years, from 50 years ago, Climate Hyteria-ists. . . In your opinion - What is the perfect temperature for the entirety of planet earth, in every region, for every season, at every atmospheric level and throughout the depths of all of the worlds oceans? Further, what exactly is contributing to the observed changes in ‘weather’, throughout the planet throughout the year, what can be done to ‘control’ it, what will be the cost of achieving the ‘perfect’ climate on earth, how long will it take, how much will it cost, and who is paying for it?! Until then, GFY!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Cookster, __________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."

We were watching a Mike Holmes show were he was talking about designing and building for the future. He used the term "the naturally changing climate" which I thought was perfect. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

There have been 41 Climate disaster predictions since 1967 and they are 0-41. Until China takes it serious I don’t care a single bit.

The OP mentioned Richard Lindzen. He has about 250 papers published. Check out Joe Rogan's pod number 2397 featuring Lindzen and Will Happer. In the interest of full disclosure this topic has been a hobby of mine for 20 years. What follows is from memory. The crown jewel of this nonsense is the Hockey Stick Graph. A proxy study using tree rings by Dr. Michael Mann published in the IPCC First publication in 1998. This study used 6 bristle cone pine trees from northern California. Now I could see a study of this kind having global implications if one sample was taken there. And the other five taken from all around the world, and a couple from the southern hemisphere. And, different species were sampled. If all that showed the same data then I might buy it. Mann's study at best was a very small regional study. But, today he's worth a cool 7 figures for playing ball with the right politicians. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!
