Rock on!

You're right. Diets do not work. Lifestyle changes do.

Ya gotta wanna!

Then it’s easier.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Congratulations! Success stories like yours encourage people into doing the same. Hopefully, one of them will be me.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Dude,

Awesome work. It is a lifestyle change.

You are allowed to "binge" every now and then. Don't worry about it, just get back on your path.

I always tell people it's easier to keep it off, then it is to take it off.

Congrats. An amazing lifestyle change. Keep it up.

I apologize now...

Same height as you, but I was up to 235 before I said WTF! Like you, cutting out sugars ranked as the best weight loss habit.

I detested diet pop, but switched. Loved sweet tea, but went to regular.

Out of everything, good comments, etc. Feeling lovey with the wife has improved dramatically, and rates at the top of the list. Keep up the good work Jazz!!!

Huge congrats to you. I'm nearly in the exact same situation except I do very little cardio. Sit-ups and weights and some walking. Lots of healthy food. I'm hungry right this second but stop eating at 5pm.

Can't seem to punch meaningly through the 170# barrier for any length of time but have been wearing a pair of 33x32 jeans. A time capsule pair of Covingtons, pictured in Oct 2003 when I was 167 but put away shortly after that when I could never get enough buttered rice.

Last blood test the doc told me to keep eating whatever it was I was eating, plus I've lost 20# and stopped buying take-out several times a week. So my BP is finally coming into the "new healthy" range.

My favorite diner closed in May and I do not believe I've had a cheese omelet with home fries and toast since ... Next road trip, I'll eat all the burgers I want ... and still probably not gain weight.

Pretty soon, but not just yet, I'm treating myself to an old war movie, a pizza, a cheese steak, and two six packs of Bass Ale. Bet I make it only through half that pile of stuff ...

One thing I've noticed ... I nearly never eat the whole thing like before.
