Not our resident Argentinian, but instead another DGAF old guy.

Yeah saw that on Facetwittergram or something...

He got that wheel gun out and used it quickly.

Amazing how many cameras there are in South America considering the high number of videos you see on the interwebs of people defending themselves or being robbed there...

'But, but, he shot him on the ground!!!! No fair!!!!'

To me, that's called 'being aware of your target'.

Seems that the young thug had a plastic pistol that fired SFA.

Seems to me that 'ol Pops there had a metal one that fired real bullets.

There's a lesson there. Don't go betting your life on an old man also having a plastic pistol. You are likely going to lose.

The fireball out of that thing is pretty impressive, are they allowed to have .357 Mag in Argentina?

As long as the military doesn't use the caliber, I think it's ok for civilians to own.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. -Ecclesiastes 9:11

His situational awareness was dialed in tight. That or he encountered these thugs earlier and knew something was coming.

Yeah, he already had it in his hand when the car pulled up alongside him. Either he knew something was going down or his spidey sense is pretty acute. Or maybe he just always drives around with his revolver on the seat next to him. Cool

Whenever I read Old Guy with revolver, I always think of Jerry Miculek and feel bad for anyone going against him!

Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

Yeah, you can see the bullet hole, after the window swung all the way out. And the maggot apparently took it on the head/face and was DRT.

When I talk to the set of cops who retired in the 80's, I've had a lot of them tell me they'd rather have a .357 Mag rather than any semi auto, any day of the week.

just a different time. Training and expectations are so much different now.

But there was a time when it was pretty common for revolver vs semi-autp gunfights to come out with the revolver winning.

As one retired cop told me, "they taught us Marksmanship"

Today when I look at the training, I see a lot of mag dumps, and I guess that's just how things have evolved now.

The legs are crossed is graveyard dead.

Jim Cirillo from the NYPD stake-out mentions the crossed legs.

He observed that every time a perpetrator was instantly killed by Stakeout Squad gunfire, they fell where they stood and their legs were crossed as they fell. Usually, they were facing the opposite direction from the way they had been standing. Jimmy’s hypothesis was that one side of the brain shut off before the other causing one side of the body to collapse before the other, resulting in the turning of the body and the crossing of the legs.

Situational awareness, skill, and a .357 magnum for the win.

I like Steve Inman's not so subtle take on it:

oh, shit. From the first video, I didn't see where the first guy went. Then I realized the old guy shot downwards as he was getting out. That's pretty gangstah.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Perp still had his gun in his hand after he went down. Old guy had to make sure the threat was neutralized, then engage the other targets. Only one quick way to do that.
