SpaceX Manned Launch Today!
The Commercial Crew Program brings a new era of space exploration to the Space Coast of Florida. For this historic mission, Americans once again launch from U.S. soil for the first time since the conclusion of the Space Shuttle Program.

SpaceX will send two NASA astronauts, Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley, on a test mission to help prove the systems meet NASA’s requirements for certification to carry astronauts to the ISS and back. Link here.

I think you can watch the whole launch live at the link below.

Right now we have thunderstorms, lightening, rain, it will depend on how the weather is around launch if it goes, if it stays the way it is they may scrub.

Thunderstorms forcast for the rest of the afternoon into the evening, not sure about SpaceX but Nasa isn't going to launch anything with electrical storms..

Today - Thunderstorms with a high of 82 °F (27.8 °C) and a 75% chance of precipitation. Winds variable at 11 to 13 mph (17.7 to 20.9 kph).

Tonight - Thunderstorms with a 70% chance of precipitation. Winds variable at 7 to 14 mph (11.3 to 22.5 kph). The overnight low will be 76 °F (24.4 °C).

Glad i'm home today to watch. Its weird to see the astronauts with out the bulky suits they used to wear in the shuttle.

Hope all goes well, regardless if they have to launch or weather scrub and try again at the next opportunity.

STS-1 scrubbed it's first launch attempt as well back in 1981.

I've got it running on my computer & on the 65" 4k in the living room. My oldest thinks it's fascinating.

If you have a smart tv, or one of the add on boxes like Amazon Fire Stick, just download the utoob app and search nasa, nice to watch it without the News harpies input...

Link to SpaceX stream as well.

Quick glance looks the same, just NASA feed is 15 seconds behind perhaps? Current audio way better on NASA.

Amazing the Tesla screens in the launch capsule, I remember when it was all blinking lights, switches geehaws and gizmos on metal dash panels...

Now it's Touch screens.

Yeah the NASA Media feed on Youtube seems to be the most up to date - the rest lag by 5-20 seconds.

Weather is supposed to clear up, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Part of me would want tactile switches, over touch screens, with how much vibration & jostling I'd expect during the launch.

I have it on in the background.

Why do we have to watch Katie Perry before the launch?
