that's pretty neat in a few years he can try to fly through a barn upside down -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- All his life he tried to be a good person. Pretty cool. Looked easy to fly. Wonder what he had for an engine? "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Judging by sound alone, snowmobile motor. That explains the pull to start thing, too. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

The way he started it looked like he took it off his push lawn mower. Very cool. The plane does not look like any kit with which I'm familiar, it would be interesting to know if the airframe was designed and built from scratch.

Weird video. Why the jump cuts at every take off/touchdown moment? Flying pretty high too. Hate to be a cynic, but looks dubious to me.

That's how the kids do it nowadays. Back in my day, we had to splice magnetic tape to do jump cuts. Kid nowadays don't know how good they have it.

based on his tac looks like he is turning 7-8k rpms to keep it airborne. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

That’s pretty cool, but you couldn’t pay me to get in that thing! A friend in high school crashed on his first solo flight doing touch and gos. Then a couple years ago, my wife’s uncle died from injuries sustained flying his homemade ultralight at his farm. Big ole jet airliner or bust for this guy!

I knew an old guy who was a WWII fighter pilot that built an ultra-light replica of the fighter he flew in combat. Pretty sure it was a kit plane. It was powered by an old Volkswagen flat four engine. He had a machine shop cut the engine in half making it a two cylinder to save weight. Ultra lights are limited to 254 pounds. He brought the engine with prop attached it to a Ham Radio club breakfast meeting one time, bolted to a two wheel trailer behind his Nissan. He prop started the thing right there in the parking lot of the restaurant! Much frivolity ensued as you can imagine about his flying utility trailer, or Nissan. I actually lost track of him and don't know if he ever actually finished it. Some people spread happiness wherever they go… some whenever they go.

Good job, thought we may get a crash. The operator seemed to have a handle on flying, already training to some level.

Thats awesome. He does look very comfortable up there as if he has piloted a plane before. There was a company out there that was making I think, 3/4 size FW190s. Let all Men know thee, but no man know thee thoroughly: Men freely ford that see the shallows. Benjamin Franklin

Back in high school, I had a set of plans for a scaled down P51 built from wood. They are long gone. I wish I still had them. I've searched the internet and can't find anything like it. Flying has always been something I've been interested but always lacked time and/or, the money. Maybe some day...

One of the 80% P-51 kits used a 12 Cylinder Jaguar engine that needed modification from chain drive OHC to gear drive. Never saw the finished project. Lick the lollipop of mediocrity once and you suck forever.

Try the EAA, they will no-doubt have something on it. I remember that kit, I think it was 3/4 scale, Chevy 350 motor. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18
