^^^ This. I've had it, it's ok. I am not a big quinoa consumer, like zero. But it has some definite positive points. It can go into much more stuff but it is commonly a good replacement for rice when you don't have meat, or just don't want to have to prepare meat. It's an almost perfect 'deep pantry' item to have around when meat is scarce or prohibitively expensive. Long shelf life. We keep some along with copious amounts of rice as a long term food stock. Like canned goods. Think survival nutrition. As long as I have electricity, my rice cooker makes it effortless to prepare. Otherwise, it prepares like rice.

1/2 cup dry quinoa, 6 oz can of shrooms, garlic butter, freshly ground black pepper, and some seasoning salt. Enough for two servings. Ready for cooking: The first serving: Pretty darned good! I steam my quinoa. There was enough liquid in the can of mushrooms – no need to add any water. Serious about crackers

Don't knock 'em until you try them. Rip apart the kale, shake the pieces in a bag with olive oil and seasonings of your choice, put on a tray, put them in a convection oven on roast until dry and crunchy. My wife and I can polish off a small tray in a few minutes. Quinoa is pretty good too. Too small to eat with a fork so it needs to be mixed with other stuff. I am going to steal the idea of adding some to chili. Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?
