Finally, got to make my trip to go see the big bears of coastal Alaska. Had originally scheduled a trip to Katmai National Park and Brooks Falls when my daughter was up. That trip got rescheduled twice because of weather and she couldn't make it. I rescheduled once more and had the trip cancelled due to the park closing for Covid.

Rust's Flying Service recommended a trip to Lake Clark National Park as an alternative. At first I thought it would be a consolation prize, now I'm glad that I went there instead of Brooks. Incredible trip, flew in by float plane then spent all day on Crescent Lake in a pontoon boat cruising around hunting out the bears. Really felt like we were in the middle of it rather than watching from a platform.

Grabbed this shot and amazed that I got it since it happened so fast. We were busy watching a mom and her two 2 year old cubs. Suddenly mom took off hauling ass. A boar got a little too close to her and her cubs so she charged him and sent him packing. It only lasted for a few seconds but the speed, power and sound of it all was amazing.

My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

Wow, that’s an awesome picture. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve always wanted to go visit Alaska and see some of the amazing scenery firsthand.

A few weeks ago we took a bush plane flight to the Shores of Katmai NP. We went to a place known as the Bear Garden which was about a 1000 acre field with no fewer than 40 Coastal Brown Bears in it. We walked around the field with our guide/pilot and stayed at least 50 yards from any bear....unless they decided to come closer themselves...which 2 of them did.

When one of them was about 5 yards away the pilot shooed him away which surprised the hell out of us..I was saying the rosary at the time and didn’t take pictures of that event!

It is a once in a life time experience and strongly recommend it.

Amazing pic! I’ve always been fascinated by the power and ferocity the big bears are capable of! Was Bandit with you he could have broken that little fracas up!!

Print that sumbitch on metal (I use Bay Photo www.bayphoto.com) as big as you can.

24x26 ran me about $280.00 ready to hang for one of my prints.
