Good afternoon, all.

I've recently become an iPad user, and I know I've got a lot to learn.

Here's today's question: when I'm surfing SIGforum from the iPad and touch the reply button on a particular topic, a new tab opens up... but it's simply an "about:blank" tab. But there's no content there -- no text box, no graphics, no nothing. What gives?

Details: 6th generation iPad, iOS 15.2

Doesn't your desktop/laptop browser do the same thing: Open a separate post creation window? Mine all have.

Yessir, it does -- on the Mac and the PC, I get a new, separate window with the reply box showing. But on the iPad, I get a new tab (instead of a new window), and the tab is entirely empty. Confused

I figure it's a setting I need to turn on or off somewhere, but darned if I know what it is.

God bless America.

Same here. Wife bought me one for my birthday

The new tab is less annoying than some pics and videos not showing though.

I don't mind that it's a new tab instead of a new window -- I kind of like it, honestly.

Thing is, it's just plain empty.

God bless America.

I’m typing this on an iPad. Opened a new tab, but with the standard reply format. Using Chrome as a browser. Also did it with Safari and it worked fine. No blank tab.

Okay, there's my bonehead moment. I didn't think to try other browsers. (Was using the DuckDuckGo app.)

I'll be right back....

Oat, you’re the man (and I’m the bonehead).
It works in Safari. I’ll try Chrome shortly.

Thank you!

You have to use "Reply with Quote". It's a folder looking icon at the lower right of the message.

I’ve been on an Apple Platform for a decade-plus now. After experimenting with nearly every available browser, hands down the best iPad or phone experience for me has been with Safari.

Sounds like DuckDuckGo is blocking something for the SigForum website.

Works but I get the blank page for about 5 seconds before the reply box comes up. This is something new.

I don't get that on my iPad, but now and then on my computers. I just close it out and try again.

DDG won't work on SF when trying to post on an iDevice, it does the same on my iFone, iPad,

You will have to use Chrome or Safari on the
iStuff, didn't take the time to find out why, just changed browsers to solve the issue.

That's where I am now, too. Thanks, all, for your help.
