Remember all those wild-ass decisions coming out of the NLRB that were supposed to help remake America in Obama's imagination's image?

From today's Politico Pro -

quote:
GOP Seizes NLRB
Ted Hesson, Politico, 9/26/17

GOP SEIZES NLRB: The Senate voted 49-47 Monday evening to approve William Emanuel to the NLRB, creating a Republican majority that will look for opportunities to reverse the pro-labor decisions of the Obama board. Republicans and buisness groups didn't try to hide their excitement. "It's a new day at the NLRB," House Education and the Workforce chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) said in a statement with Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.). "Today marks the end of a partisan era at the board, where we saw an activist agenda that empowered special interests at the expense of hardworking men and women."

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) was less enthusiastic, saying Emanuel was unqualifies to serve on a body whose statutory mission, as enunciated in the preamble to the 1935 National Labor Relations Act, is to promote commerce "by encouraging the practice and procedure of collective bargaining." "In his more than four decades of practice, he has never been on the side of the workers - not once," Warren said. "A guy who has never even once represented workers should not serve on the NLRB. Period."

Yeah, they "seized" it, alright (as if a government agency was somehow the private property of the Democratic Party!). They seized it like a cop grabbing the keys out of the ignition of a drunk driver.

I heard a speaker last year who said Trump will likely have the opportunity to nominate the entire NLRB.

IOW, look for this majority to get even bigger over the next 3 years.

I can deal with more winning. The good guys are going to need to push to get a few more of their own into the US Senate in '18 (go Moore!), and a few more wins will both tide us over and improve the good guys' chances.

This is a big deal, the NLRB has for too long had socialist sympathies.

This is good news, but I'd have much preferred the NLRB be completely abolished as I believe the board's actions overall are totally unconstitutional.

One step at a time. The good guys have a working majority on the board. Now to work on getting a big enough committed majority in Congress in '18 - particularly the Senate - to have a better shot at making sweeping change happen.

They need to vote themselves out of existence on the Board.
