I have a javelina issue. While an Airsoft gun may not permanently deter the javelina, getting some non lethal revenge will make my wife feel better when I am replanting every living thing in my yard, as well as picking up trash.

My wife wants a co2 bb pistol as she is mad. I told her no, I don’t want to actually hurt the bastards.

I would like to get her a battery powered Airsoft gun. I would like one that is capable of rapid fire. I would also like one that will move the 6mm pellet quickly. I want something that’ll sting.

Now I also don’t want to pay a ton of $$$.

So for those of you that are into Airsoft, what are your recommendations?

Other idea, suppressor.....drag them out in the roadway, make it look like a suicide. Wink

CO2 is the easiest to set up and run. GBB aka Green gas is really good for the more authentic pistols and rifles (slide moving and weight of gun is similar to the real thing).

I have both, all corresponding to actual guns I own and use. I have a heavy duty tarp on an expending curtain rod and some targets that I can quickly set up and take down in the basement. This is great for getting reps on pistols I am currently carrying or switching over to carrying.

You can even get a sniper rifle airsoft to set up that will work for your requirements. it will depend on your distances as sniper vs full auto.

My thought as well. Might surprise them a bit & get them to scurry, but not too likely to be much of a deterrent.
I've seen one take a few 5.56 before going down, tough buggers.

Okay, first off, yes, I know that an Airsoft bb will just bounce off their hide. I DO NOT WANT TO HARM THEM. Just sting them a little.

Can’t shoot them and kill them. They are considered a game animal here. Paintballs kind of crosses the line as it leaves them color spotted. Airsoft bb’s are awfully hard to prove.

I was thinking Airsoft because it’s for my wife as much as anyone. I don’t want anything that cycles like a real gun. I want it easy for her to shoot.

Maybe I should look into paintballs.

How about pepperball. That just stings.

And no paint in 'em either.

Like Brett said in Alien when demonstrating his cattle prod, It won't kill him, but it will give him some incentive.

Just stick with electric AEG. Quick burst full auto and put it away until the next time. No need to deal with gas for something this infrequent.

Use frozen paintballs. No spotting and it will really get their attention. I don't think airsoft will do the trick.

Who hasn’t replied to this thread… I’m just trying to figure out what would suit my needs. There are a lot of options, and the prices are all over the place. I’m not into it for sport, just to let my wife seek some revenge for these bastards tearing up her yard.

Any info on what a good brand, easy to shoot, affordable (if that’s an option) not something that’ll terrify the neighbors and get the SWAT team called, would be very helpful.

A good slingshot might be better than an Airport gun once you get proficient with it.
Ammo (small rocks) would be free and would probably be more likely to get noticed by them.
It would depend on the range, though.

Edit: 4 hours later I see that damn autocorrect changed Airsoft to Airport above.

you guys are no fun at all.

This P90 clone is electric, does not look like a typical ASSAULT WEAPON(!!!) and this one comes in pink!

I don't have this one but I keep eyeballing something like this for shits and giggles.

You can spend some serious cheddar on toys these days.

This is for my wife. She would beat me with the slingshot if I brought it to her.

Okay, the P90 is goofy looking as fuck, and my cheap ass would need a crowbar to get $200 out… but that thing looks pretty badass. I could see my wife out there unloading on the javelina with that.

You can get paintballs online with clear fill (paint). It is just the paint without pigment.

I may have used this to dissuade Canada Geese from setting up shop in our company pond/parking lot at my previous employer. Left no trace that our harassment involved anything more than streamers, boat horns, and coyote decoys.

Worked well, along with a green laser at night.

Just sayin...

Ask him if it has shit the bed yet. Me and a buddy bought a couple to mess around with and by the end of the weekend and a few bottles of gas we experienced a couple of failures. The magazine feed lips crack, and the selector can get screwed up and the thing will stick in full auto or some shitty burst mode. They are made with pot metal. Just a word of caution!

I traded mine in under warranty for a 2011 type GBB pistol that is a LOT nicer, just not full-auto.
