Our son let it slip a couple weeks ago that back when he was staying with Grandma he went to the store with her and pointed out one of those massive one pound Hershey bars and joked that he wanted one....When they got home and were putting groceries up, sure enough, she had bought it for him...smh Big Grin Big Grin

My Grandmother spoiled me and of course it was great.

So fast forward to when she was a great Grandmother, I left the boys with her and expressly said..."no junk food"

I come to pick them up and what do I see onn the their mouths...cookie crumbs....I surmise they were Oreo crumbs. So I ask my loely Grandmother about the no junk food and point out the crumbs

Her response...while looking me dead in the eye

..."what crumbs" Big Grin

My mother in law lives with us and she is awesome but as I told my wife she is ruining my son for some future woman...homemade pancakes every morning...homemade pelmini every night....he wants desert she jumps up to get whatever he wants, the other day I told him to clean his play area..and caught Babu doing it and him playing 15 minutes later... etc etc

Rburg is suffering greatly. I have no faith in cardiac surgeons. And they don't all give adequate pain meds. Lucky for me I have a power recliner.

My grandparents were not like that. One pair had had 24 grandchildren and the other had 19, and they didn't want anything to do with any of them. The ones that lived nearby (rural Arkansas and Missouri) would do some of the chores, and that was approved. There was no "spoiling" at all. Grandchildren were for doing work.

I remember spending a few weeks with my grandma one summer. She loaded us up with all the Cookie Crisp cereal we could handle. I also spent a few days with my bachelor grandpa, and he would take me out to his hang-out place for a good old-fashioned hamburger breakfast Smile

Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.
