I have Sony PSVUE streaming TV and have been happy with it, BUT they're discontinuing streaming tv as of Jan 30,2020 so I have to switch. I despise Direct tv. So I have some questions about the YouTube TV service. How is the quality of the picture with the YouTube tv? Are there any buffering issues? Does it allow you to stream tv on your tablet outside of your zipcode/area, like if you're traveling? Any other quirks? How is the guide feature etc?

I tried it for the Winter Olympics a few years ago and liked the quality of the stream and the channel choices. But I quickly grew to dislike the DVR function, which I couldn't figure out how to select individual episodes. It was basically, you pick a show and it records everything. If that has changed, I don't know. But that was the only thing I didn't like about YouTube TV. We have it and like it. We went to it after 17 years with DTV. It has been a good change for us. __________________________

I like it. The standard sports package suits me. I seldom record anything but movies and I could not imagine how that could be easier. Just click the + sign and that is it, unlimited cloud storage. Standard $49 package lets you watch 3 screens at a time. Premium channels are reasonable, I added the Starz/Encore package for $9 month and that gets you about a dozen commercial free movie channels and a nice selection of on demand movies and series. No long term commitments, buy for a month, binge watch and cancel if you want. Picture is as good or better than TWC/Spectrum cable I was getting. We've only had it 2 months. My wife was disappointed PBS was not part of the package but it was added a couple weeks ago. Fox business isn't part of the package but my ROKU picks FB up live with the app. My day always goes better with a shot of Liz Claymen's legs and cleavage and she does like to show them off. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

We switched to YouTube TV after decades with satellite TV. We've had it for a year and love YouTube TV. Would not consider anything else at this point. ____________________________ NRA Benefactor Life Member GOA Life Member Arizona Citizens Defense League Life Member

When I dropped cable channels about a year or so ago I chose Hulu with live tv. I had streaming issues and decided to try Youtube TV. I’m much happier with it. I also have prime video and the combo works well for me.

We have had it for over a year now and absolutely love it. All the channels we need for a good price. Like the interface and service is fast and reliable with our Google Fiber 1 Gigabit service.

If they are still offering free trials I would give them all a try and goes with what works best for you. A little over a year ago I did a free week trial of Sling, YouTubeTV and Hulu Live. I went with Hulu and still have them now. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Very happy with it . Trialed PSVUE & hated the interface via my PS3, since PSVue wasn't available on our Samsung TV. Switched to YTTV & have been happy. Yes, it records every episode of a DVR show, and it does it on every channel, I'm happy for that in that it catches all of the F1 content across multiple ESPN channels & catches it on ABC for the US race. I’m another one in the market after PSVue’s end. I was very happy so I’m hoping I can find a streaming service with the right channels, the right price and the ability to use the service’s credentials to sign into apps(Discovery/Science/HGTV/etc) for on demand content. I would probably like YouTube, but I just don’t want to pay Google ANYTHING. As I have said here in similar threads, free trials of the services will help me make the decision. Anyone using it overseas thru a VPN? I’ve been using DirectTV/AT&T Now and it’s been less than reliable.

Started PSVUE with a PS3 and it was horribly slow. Then purchased a PS4 figuring it would provide the best speed and interface. Really liked PSVUE on the PS4. Now I need new hardware for switching to YouTube TV, as it is not supported with the PS4. Does anyone have an opinion on the best hardware for running YouTube TV? Fast channel changing is high on my list of desires. “We’re in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for our administration…President Obama’s administration before this. I switched from Dish to YTTv this year, I use my Xbox One as the interface. So far the benefits far outweigh any negatives compared to expensive dish plans "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. Roku Ultra- cheap and I am very happy with it's interface, the remote control (which you can connect headphones to and listen to the tv with the remote without keeping anyone else awake) and it just works great. FTTTU- I feel exactly that way about giving money to DIRECT TV. After looking at the YouTube channel lineup, it appears that it has all the channels I liked on PSVUE (Natgeo, direct tv, bravo, etc.) and after reading this thread, it appears that's where I will go on January 30th when PSVUE ends (which I was very happy with). It almost seems youtube tv is taking over what psvue did when you look at the channel line up. Can also use it on a tablet, which I like because I can stream the same channel i'm watching on tv and carry it outside when I'm grilling.

So I'd need a Firestick or Roku, as its a 4 year old Samsung with limited apps? Plug in and begin set-up? Easier to set u on a desktop, or on the TV? Thanks, I'm pretty sure I could intuit through it, or read how, but you guys have been there, done that.

Easier on a desktop and it is intuitive. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog
