I remember fondly the rally around 220ST for the raffle. Made me proud to be able to have donated.

While mentioning Steves, I also miss the posts of DocSteve - a true "been there, done that" guy that was a Corpsman attached to a SEAL platoon. I hope he's doing well.

That was an awesome raffle! Big Grin

What happened to Steve? I met him years ago in FL. He just seemed to drop off the forum suddenly.

Wasn’t there a thread about a guy an orange Subaru that’s got pretty wild! It ended up getting photoshopped with The general lee decals?

That was a tag line, but I can't begin to remember why it got so much
Conversation here.

Here's another one,
Someone out on the east coast ,I believe had that cops come in and grab a bunch of guns, for some reason,

I.i.r.c. ,it was close to a year before he got them returned.
Some were damaged.

IIRC, that was Spectre, who lost his guns after his episode, and it took a while for him to successfully petition to have his rights reinstated.

LOL. I even had a "Free Bunny McIntosh" t-shirt from that event. That was Audiostar, I believe. He also had a hilarious blog or something about food dishes that parodied rap songs or some such.

He took his football and went home. Whod've ever thought that a gun forum would be full of conservatives? Roll Eyes

And then Para actually had Mr. Ayoob join the discussion, that was pretty epic.

I remember the thread where Mr. Ayoob took questions. I asked about head shots being targeted (no pun intended) for prosecution, and he gave his advice. I know that devolved into a lot of argument on "if it's a justifiable shot". Think there was some shit over handloads versus factory ammunition, too.

Oh, whatever happened to Honda-if I'm remembering his name correctly. Seemed like he was up in WVA and was becoming I think a lobbyist.

You know what's really funny is that three four years back, someone mentioned in the forum that his shit website finally tanked. I took a look at that time. It was still up but not publicly accessible. As soon as I said "Oh, really? Well, they lost and we won," someone must have told him and he was like clickclickclickclick and he made his big pile of nothing publicly accessible again. Big Grin

I just checked it, and now when you go there, it redirects you to some Asian gaming site. Big Grin
Didn't you nickname him 'Benny Big-Time' because he was always posting about all the 'important' people he knew and how much money he had?
Yes. Don't you people know that he was in the same room with Hulk Hogan? He didn't speak to him, but he was in the same room with him.

And, oh, he was always talking about his 6000 square foot girlfriend and his hot, 26 year old condo. Maybe it was the the way around.

Yeah, Benny Bigtime came in here with his bullshit and his Pied Piper routine and fucked up more than a few members who bought his crap. He ended up getting a slew of members banned when he convinced him that they could essentially call their own shots here. I cleaned freakin' house- banned thirty in one day. Surprised the shit out of some of them.

Then, they went over to his little shit board- informally known as The Island of Misfit Toys- and used that space to climb up in the trees and screech and fling shit at us like agitated chimpanzees.

Do you know that this egomaniac actually invited me to join his shit show? "Come over here so I can ban you." Utterly juvenile and sooooo confused. When I didn't take him up on his offer, he actually registered my username and pretended to be me posting on his site. I know at least two of his members left immediately after that. Too bad they didn't see sooner what they were dealing with.

I told him- you can't build a board on a personal grudge. People aren't going to hang around for that. No one cares about your bruised ego. They'll gawk at the car wreck and then move on. Sure enough, his crap went nowhere. It takes time and effort- day in, day out, for years, to build a successful forum. A measure of talent at it doesn't hurt, either. Razz

There's tons I could tell you about this douchebag, but you get the idea.

Honestly, this sounds like a great story...

I can't remember the poster's name, but don't believe he ever posted again after the Sigforum pile-on.

This is my recollection of it:
The former Sigforumite was having some guys over to watch football. His wife was nice enough to go to the store to buy stuff for them to eat while watching football. She came home with a plain white frosted cake, and it wasn't good enough for the former Sigforumite. So his wife tried to be creative and put a design on it so it was better. That wasn't good enough for the former Sigforumite and in a hissy fit he called it ghey cake and smeared the frosting.

Then, he came to Sigforum to brag about the way he treated his wife and didn't get the response he expected. Epic pile-on ensued.

We do frequently have jokes here about marital relations (all in good fun), but over the years one thing I've learned is that Sigforum does not tolerate braggards coming here to share stories about how poorly they treat and/or belittle their wives.
