I'm a big fan of Carhartt coats/jackets, especially their C26 model. 3 season capable, durable and warm without being unduly heavy.

My current one is pretty threadbare, hitting all the local brick-and-mortar Carhartt retailers has been fruitless. Their website doesn't even list it any more.

Searched elsewhere online and found an outfit called WilliamJacket that listed them with appropriate pictures and prices.

First off the name "WilliamJacket" is just off-beat enough to trigger my spidey sense, but I decided to try it.

Received today. Doesn't even pretend to be a genuine Carhartt. External patch looks valid but ALL the internal tags are wrong. Lightweight outer shell, no insulation, knew when I picked the package up that something was off.

I've emailed them for a return/refund, but I'd bet good money I'll have to sic my credit card company on them.

I'll post back as things develop.

damn, and I just finished reading the silver coin thread about the fake silver coins.

just can't win.

I was pretty pissed a few years ago when I bought an Otterbox from a 3rd party seller on Amazon and it was a FAKE.

I didn't even know I was buying from a 3rd party since I wasn't paying attention --- didn't think I had to.

These scammers rip off the original manufacturer and the consumer in a single transaction. Two crimes for the price of one.

Phishing, scammers and the like - death or something like it would be fine by me.

Re: amazon 3rd party sellers, I don't buy anything from prime that isn't shipped and sold by prime. And that's another peeve - lots of reviewers who rate the product low because they likely got cheated by a non-prime vendor. Prime should segregate reviews by vendor. And also, while I am generally for free markets and free capitalism, chicom products are a plague on society. Chicom made but especially chicom companies. It may be nice if Trump creates some sort of order that requires <prime> that no more than 10% of sales can be chicom companies as seller; no more than 40% of sales can be products made in chicom. In concept. As it is, prime seems like a chicom warehouse distributor.

It would be great if there were a requirement for Country of Origin to be clearly stated.

I know you are looking for a Carhartt but if you want one similar for less money look at the Berne brand. I had one that lasted me over twenty years so a couple years back when I was looking for a new coat I compared it to the Carhartt and ended up getting another Berne, it is made in Bangladesh.

I believe that Carhartt is sold as a fashion line in other countries. Perhaps that’s what you were sent?

Sorry Paul, but glad you got the CC company to back you up.

I used to get a Carhartt jacket every year monogrammed from work. I gave them all away as I didn’t wanna get em covered in black liquor and grease. Wish I had one still.

Reddit says that the C26 was discontinued in 2019. You might be out of luck on that model.

My google search showed a lot of hardware stores like Ace, True Value, Farm & Fleet, etc selling Carhartts. Maybe dropping by a local store of that type in person would help in picking out a different model of jacket.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

See if you have a Sierra locally. They sell overstock outdoor gear, and mark it down significantly. I got one of the heavy Carhartt jackets there in December for $50, and have been loving it since the temps fell below zero last week.

Carhartt Reworked site has one in stock. It's a 2xl, don't know your size but it's worth checking the site out for alternatives too.
