Mill Creek Rifle Club
Hey guys, I just moved to Lawrence KS, and was looking for a new place to shoot. I see there is a range near by in DeSoto KS called Mill Creek Rifle Club. Looks like a pretty nice place, though I just did a quick drive by. Are there any members here on the forum that can enlighten me on this place ?
Thanks

I am a member, though I am in the process of moving to NE Ohio.

Range is excellent. Has several pistol only ranges, 150, 100, and 100/200/300 benchrest ranges. A prone range with 200, 300, and 500 shooting positions and a yearly match, usually in November that goes out to 1500 yards.

Membership is limited. You have to be sponsored by another member. Initial dues are approximately $200+ and then if I remember, $90 a year and $65 if 65 years old or older.

The website is millcreekrc.org

They also have bowling pin/steel matches on Wednesday’s. The website has a calendar of events.

You also have to be an NRA member. Members also get a pretty good discount at the Bushnell Outlet store.

Hopefully this helps.

That does. Thanks. I guess I will need to shoot some matches so I can meet some folks. Good luck in Ohio

Am I wrong in saying you need to have a recommendation letter and its been a 1 in 1 out list for quite awhile?

That is correct. You need a recommendation letter from a current member. That is what I meant when saying he needed to be sponsored and should have added more detail.

Once sponsored you have to attend a club meeting to be introduced to the membership and if I remember correctly there is a vote to accept you as a member.

Part of the process is receiving range training where you are observed in safe firearm handling.

All in all it’s not here is my $200, give me my membership.
