arfmelOmaha Steaks
They’re delivered in a swell, heavy styrofoam ice chest. It’s considerably better than the contents thereof.

jhe888I got some once. Not all that good. They were marinated in something that gave them an off texture.

For 50 bucks, you get about 5 pounds of pork chops, chicken breasts, hot dogs, hamburger and some sirloin steaks, plus a bonus pound of hamburger.
That's a little over $8.00 per pound for mostly hamburger, chicken and hot dogs. No filets, ribeyes, New Yorks.

davetruongI can't speak for Omaha Steaks but I get my steaks from
www.meatthebutchers.com. I can tell you everything I've ordered has been nothing short of amazing.

Tgrshrk99We also have had great luck with Costco meat. Lamb chops are awesome.

THIS! I’ve had Omaha steaks several times and they’re ok, but not nearly as good as Costco meat or butchers. I’d never order them myself. Their hamburgers suck.

Jimbo54I agree with the Costco posts. Not cheap, but always top quality. Their fish selection is very good as well.

gpbst3I would not waste the money. The packages they offer include so many fluff items. They should include a bottle of KY jelly with the twice baked potato it was so dry.

Yikes. $50 a pound for filet. It better be amazing

HornI have to agree with most of these posts.
Omaha Steaks are really__in my opinion and I'm originally from Kansas City where they're some really good steak houses__trash. A true steak house serves Top Choice meat! If Omaha Steaks are even Choice they have to be barely. Also cut way too thin to be called a steak.
I tried them once. My dog really voted highly
for them.

wreckdiverCustomer/friend turned me onto LaVaca Meat Co.
Must say they are fantastic, but I always look for their sales to stock up with my FoodSaver.
Would really like to learn how to age beef properly.

armedprofI have received Omaha steaks as gifts a couple times. The best thing in the cooler was the hot dogs. They are great but really expensive. The steak is definitely not worth the money.
Do, Or do not. There is no try. October 29, 2018, 09:04 AM
valkyrie1Had them a few times as gifts. I wouldn't buy them. They have a weird texture. Rather do local butcher. The hamburger is not bad..

RichardCKeep the ice chest in the trunk of your car.
Great for getting takeout Chinese or KFC home while its hot.

SBrooksThe meat is decent. If someone is giving it to you - hell yeah !!
If you're buying it - maybe - if the deal is awesome.

ggileI order from Omaha Steaks two or three times a year, usually something from their seafood selection, stuff I can't get locally.
As far as their steaks are concerned I can get just as good, and cheaper, locally. If I do buy meat from them it is Bison, but their prices have gotten so high that I can't afford to do that anymore.
All in all, I have no complaint about the quality of their food, nothing really outstanding, it's just overpriced.

lbjWe buy the top line special select 10oz filet mignons from Omaha steaks and really like them.
They are better than what we can get at Costco here.
Pricey though.

BBMWI have to say, I don't see the main utility of Omaha Steaks being for personal consumption. It's just too easy to buy equivalent meat locally almost anywhere, at equivalent or lower prices.
Where it could be useful is as a gift. However, I find it something of a strange gift, that I can't see myself ever sending someone.

GeorgeairMUCH better meat at similar prices at Snake River Farms if you watch for sales.
One of our members here turned me on to them.
