I suppose Illinois Forum members know the story. A man in Merengo, Illinois is working at fulfillment of a childhood dream by restoring a B-17E in his barn—with lots of help and interest.

For me, at least, this is one of those “where’s the Kleenex” stories, because a project like this stirs deep feelings in the hearts of many.

The news story is pretty recent. The work goes on. As Mike Kellner told the reporter, “It’ll be done Thursday; we just don’t know which one.”

Too cool.

I have to get down there and leave something in the tip jar (for my Dad).
