September 5, 2023 - MEDAL OF HONOR: Captain Larry L. Taylor
As the attendees applauded Captain Taylor, Resident BiteMe probably thought they wert clapping for him. Look at the retarded smile on his face as he walks away.

If you're goin' through hell, keep on going.
Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it.
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there.

Thank you Capt. Taylor for your amazing bravery. My brother fought in the Big Red One during Vietnam. Well deserved MOH.

It was not my intention to dishonor Capt. Taylor or to dump on Q's thread . My sincere apology if I did. I was only making the obvious point that this should have been done long ago !

This story is getting some traction in the MSM. But the real story ought to be Captain Taylor, not Joe Biden. The article:

Biden slammed for 'disrespect' after leaving war hero ceremony early

“Joe Biden has sparked backlash after he hastily exited a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House, leaving a celebrated war hero [Captain Taylor] awkwardly alone on stage.
……
Biden's quick getaway is the latest in a long line of incidents that have led people to brand him disrespectful to the troops, including an infamous moment where he repeatedly checked his watch during a ceremony honoring soldiers killed in an ISIS-K suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2021. …”

I read two other articles about CAPT Taylor's award. In short, one of the LRRP team members, SGT Miller initiated the process after learning at a reunion in '99 that he was awarded the Silver Star. Kudos to SGT Miller. And in my book, everyone should have stayed during the ceremony until the closing prayer and CAPT Taylor should have led the procession out.

And JB should have saluted him!

ETA: one story told that the recon guys were out of ammo. A few grenades were left, and their knives. And surrounded.

Okay...mental picture of those 4 guys jumping on the rockets and sleds as the helicopter pulls up is way better than anything Hollywood could come up with.

That is Bad Ass.

Those guys really wanted to get the hell out of there. How they maintained the strength to HOLD on, along with Taylor flying smooth enough as to not jar them loose, would be something I would have to see to fathom!

The AH-64s can hold a person externally on each side of the fuselage, in order to extract in a situation just like this, but I had no idea the AH-1’s could support extra bodies like that.

Not only is this place a reliable source of information on "STUFF" I absolutely need, it's also my primary source of news information.

Its a hell of an algorithm Cool
