No credit card needed to sign up.

I'm going to give it another try hoping the service is better than it was the last time I had it.

Once your trial is over they will hound you to subscribe. I've had sat since 08 and for the last 6-7 years I've paid $5 a month. Stand firm and you'll get it and I think it's worth $5 a month just to have if you want it.

probably buyout winds blowing and they are pumping up the subscription numbers.

I paid $35 for a year.

I quit xm and to do that, you go through 3 people hounding you to stay. I really had to stop that time. Then I keep getting the emails and mails. I signed up for my cross country drive.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I think you can sign up just for streaming service. The renewal process is so frustrating every year.

"Your subscription is going to auto renew for $350 per year...
"No I don't want to pay that, I'll pay $100 for the year for all access and streaming just like last year..."
"No sorry sir, that special is not available..."
"OK then cancel the subscription..."
"Very sorry to see you leave sir we will give you the all access plus streaming for $100..."

See Rey HRH makes my point beautifully. If you keep hounding them they just keep dropping it. In fact I remember discussing it in a prior thread with him and I'll say it again. I pay the $100 simply because beyond a point I don't want to play the game any more. The whole process is nuts.

The last couple solicitation mailings I got from them offer a pay-by-check option, which is tempting. Don't want it? Don't pay.

It was one of the low-rate offers, too, but I was so put-off by their pestering in the past that I didn't sign up. Too bad, I liked a couple stations they offer.

You’d be better signing up with Spotify than them for streaming.

It’s well worth the renewal games to me so I can listen to Breitbart, David Webb & Andrew Wilkow every day. I think I’m currently paying $7/mo. for All Access.

I also tell them every time that XM Patriot is the only reason I subscribe. That’s actually pretty important for their internal ratings.

Once you know how to cut to the chase, it’s a ten minute phone call, and most of that is because of the recorded contract verification stuff they have to read through and get you to acknowledge.

I’m trying to keep up with the times. That means streaming through the phone with ‘car play’ if I want no commercial music, of my choosing, while driving.

It’s the same with vehicle navigation, why have it when the phone does it, better & easier usually.

Then we get to the TV at home, feed through wi-fi, no cable or satellite.

I get emails to come back to XM. I don’t care if it’s only $5 a month, don’t see a need. Our phone plan went to unlimited data a while back, may as well get some payback on the plan, though we did move to Cricket too.

A few months ago I bought a truck that came with 3 months Sirius XM radio. I simply did not use it so I declined to enroll and let it drop. That decision led to an enormous effort by them to get me to sign up to the extent that I start cursing when I see them on my phone calling. This does not include the mailings etc. but the calls are never ending-they refuse to take no for an answer and just keep calling from different numbers and places so you cannot block them all.

Day one. Had two outages driving home after taking wife to work. XM is fine if you don't have to drive past buildings or trees. Otherwise, don't bother.

If you pay by check, won’t they auto deduct next year since they have your account number?

I canceled years ago and have been using my exwife’s spotify family plan.

I recently cancelled it for my wife's car, it was no problem, at all. I still have it in my Jeep and will probably keep it, seems to run about $100/yr after "negotiations".

Such as? I'm asking because I use it on a motorcycle and it's easy to just press a preset instead of having to look down and try and use a touch screen while riding.
