This is just wrong

“ After two years of research, and with funding from Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle ("Neuzelle Monastery Brewery") says they've nailed the science. Just add water, and "looks like beer! Tastes like beer! Is beer! With a real head of foam!"

Not for me. Carnation powdered milk was a staple in our house when Dad was out of work. Awwwful! Cannot imagine powdered beer.

OK I can see some cool opportunities for this, beer at a ball game, $12 to $15, just get a bottled water for $5 and make your own beer!

At Church, sermon is getting a bit long, open up the bottled water, boom instant beer, god can't get mad, Jesus turned water into wine, so unless you are a Baptist all is good! Razz

How did they powder the alcohol?

It will cost a lot less to transport without all that water in it, let's see if the cost reduction is passed along to the consumer. (Ho ho ho)

With the poppy seed lemon loaf being an MRE staple, and now no trooper worth their salt would touch them, I can see this being a new favorite in the MRE!

Saw powdered vodka/orange juice some 40 years ago. Beought by a japanese delegate to the Customs Co-operation Council (currently the World Customs Organization).

He brought it so it could be classified in the Harmonized System Nomenclature. My father’s life contribution.

I freeze dry my extra eggs (those that I don't sell). When scrambled, I can't tell the difference between them and fresh. It's a great way to store eggs long term.

During the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954, the Foreign Legionnaires were issued a dehydrated wine called Vinogel.

It was so vile that even the Legionnaires passed on it every day save 30 April. Then they had no choice.
