Ideas for gunsafe organization

I have a 42 gun safe that came with a door organizer that is basically thin nylon pockets for pistols and a couple larger document pockets. Most of them are now ripping and falling apart.

I'm thinking of removing the inner door panel and replacing it with a thin plywood panel that I can screw some type of organizer to. Not too worried about losing the fire protection.

Has anyone else done something similar?

Maddy , I made this gun rack for my pistols to avoid hanging guns on the door to the safe...it has helped immensely in keeping me organized. The only gun hung in the door pockets are two loaded Jframed revolvers.

‘18, after my second stroke I retired from policing in WilTson, and Mrs. Mike got a Bigly pay raise to move to her corporate offices.
Things happen for a reason, I’d like to think God wanted me to get out of the babysitting business and into my recliner.

I have thought about getting them, I like the fact that they can be attached to the metal door with the magnet attachments too.

I like the foam pistol rack.
Attached 21 foam slots together.
21 guns across the top shelf in a Lincoln 50.

Putting anything on the door prevents me from using the front rifle slots, as they keep the door from closing.
From my experience safes are not made to both use front rack slot and door organizer.

Instead of replacing inner door liner with plywood, use pegboard. Then go get power drill hangers from Lowe’s/HD and hang away. One of my safes is a Zanotti and it came this way. I probably have 20 guns on the door. I also use the racks as described above but honestly opening the door to a bunch of them tight there is nice.

I can vouch for these guys. While not in my safe, my buddy has this. His is actually pictured on their site (it’s the one with Midway pistol mag bags and two pocket knives clipped to it) and it’s worked great for going on about 8 years now. If my two AMSECs didn’t have their door organizer on the doors I’d go this route in a heartbeat.
