Sorry I was late with the response. Dad says every well you drill will test positive as the driller introduces it by putting hands to mouth and what not. Smoking eating drinking while working.

The fix is to pour some HTH (granular-bc it goes to the bottom) down the well and let it sit for two hours then purge. You may have chlorine for several days, but continue to purge it until the smell/taste is gone.

And thats it. It’ll be gone. No need for second testing.

Killer, dad said based on a 200' deep well with a 6" hole you should put 1/2 cup of granular HTH.

You should check on your prior situation. In my State it is a legal requirement for anytime the well is opened and the original drilling for it to be shock treated as above. So it that happened it is different issue than you think.
