RIP EDDIE Money
I believe he was to have performed last week here at Riverbend. Sadly, his health required the concert be cancelled.

R.I.P. Mr. Money.

Great music. Love playing the drums along to his songs.
RIP Eddie.

He was one of the good ones. I saw him in 1983 and again last year. He will me missed.

Heard on the radio on my drive home today that he was a cop for some time. His dad would call him after selling out the likes of Madison Square Gardens and say, “you know son, your spot is still open, should you want to come back”

Several years ago when I worked in the private sector I was at a conference in San Diego and they hired him to play at a networking event. I had texted my wife to let her know and she told me when she was in middle to high school she had a huge crush on him and wanted me to get his autograph. I am not a person that likes to seek autographs, but I did it for my wife. I told him my wife had a huge crush on him back then and told people he was her boyfriend. He said, “Well maybe she was my girlfriend.” He seemed like a cool guy. RIP Eddie.

Glad to know he didn’t forget his roots and was a cop supporter even after he became famous.

He lived here in the Bay Area for a long time and played a lot of shows locally. I know a lot of people who have seen him play. A friend of my wife was actually close to him personally and was really upset today. Other people locally have had casual interactions with him and he was super down to earth (for a celebrity) One guy I know ran into him in a Kentucky Fried Chicken a few years back and said “Eddie Money! What are you doing here ?” EM: (completely dead pan) “getting a family bucket with extra mashed potatoes..”

Enjoyed his music.
RIP

I remember a BAM magazine interview in which he was talking about a certain dive chinese restaurant that served the best sweet & sour pork because it had so much MSG for a great head rush Big Grin

He was a blue collar guy singing in expensive suits during a time when singers were wearing spandex, jeans, and frilly shirts. He was Robert Palmer before Robert Palmer. Extremely cool guy.

Not to thread drift... BAM magazine brings back memories of my youth I think it’s been out of print since the 90s.

Eddie wasn't my favorite, but sad to see him go.
