Awwwwww man!!! I've said it before, but I'm beginning to understand how my 84 year old mother feels about losing those icons of your youth. Dang it!!
"If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

I saw him in concert back in the early 1980s.
All you have to do is change "'68 and '69" to "'78 and '79", and this is me, and a lot of guys in this forum. This song just drips with nostalgia.

Saw him perform in 1978 after he released his debut album, great performance.
RIP Mr. Mahoney.

One of my favorites. I saw him in concert a couple times back in the 80s. He had great songs and was an excellent performer.

One of my favorites I always wanted to see him live, but back in the day I could never afford the tickets even when they were cheap.
I was going to try and go to the concert at the end of the month in Ohio.
RIP

Damn. Never had a chance to see him in concert but I sure wish I had. Many, many times I listened to his music during my teenage years in the 80’s and well, one gal lost her ____ during a song of his that I particularly remember. Still love his music and nostalgia is incredibly high whenever I hear his tunes. RIP Dear Sir & thank you for contributing to the music of my youth.

RIP Eddie. He had a great, unique rock voice. Still have several of his cassettes from the ‘80s.

RIP. He's one of those artists that seemed to me like he wasn't a superstar, but he was nonetheless everywhere and has left a mark that will remain for decades to come.
I just hope nobody eulogizing him uses the cheesy line "The Lord took Eddie home tonight on one ticket to paradise..."

Watched him live outdoors at Church Street Station, looks like he's going to be using his tickets to paradise.. RIP
One of his quotes: I’m gonna stop when I’m rich, and I don’t think that’s ever gonna happen. For some reason, I missed the boat when it comes to the big money. I don’t know what happened, you know? I’m not really getting rich out here. But I look at it like this: The kids aren’t in jail, they’re not in rehab, nobody’s wrecked the car this week and there’s still milk in the refrigerator. I’m having a good month.”
Good sense of humor. He worked the casino circuit here for awhile in early 2000s.

His video, I Wanna Go Back was filmed about 5 minutes from where I grew up in Dover, NJ. I lived in an adjoining town. I remember back when I first saw the video in the early 1980's and I recognized all the places in the video. I thought that was so cool. I loved watching that video. he was a cool dude.
RIP Eddie.

Eddie opened every season at the DTE Energy Music Theater in Clarkston, MI for like the last 20 years. Crappy way to end the streak. RIP, Mr. Money.

He always seemed like a very down-to-earth guy.
I don't know how he did it...He wasn't that good looking, wasn't a very good singer...but somehow he managed to become famous in the MTV era. Good on him!
Thanks for the memories.
