Another prayer request - in the hospital with a kidney stone *Update age 2* stone free and able to wee ;)
Woke up yesterday morning about 2 am to excruciating pain in my abdomen. Decided 12 later I should go to the clinic as it wasn’t getting any better.
Doc gave me a shot of Toradol, took X-ray and then sent me off for a CT scan.
CT showed I have a 5mm stone in my right ureter closer to bladder than kidney. Doc also was concerned for infection and sent me off to the ER. Got to the ER at 8pm, they said no infection but were concerned by increasing creatinine level. Decided to admit me about 2:30 this morning. Urologist came by and since the fluids aren’t helping he thinks he should go in and take care of it via Cystoscopy (had one before, NO fun)
Have only had about 4 hours sleep since 2 am yesterday and every time I drift off, the vampires decide they need more blood.
Hopefully will get it out today and go home tonight or worst case tomorrow. On the bright side, has been no pain since the Toradol injection. When my wife had a stone a while back she suffered a lot worse and had to wait until passed on it’s own.
Appreciate any prayers you want to send this way. Been a heck of a past 6 months with health issues for me.This message has been edited. Last edited by: 911Boss, April 20, 2023 12:42 AM

Never figured out why they put beds in hospital rooms nobody sleeps, told the wife they must have cameras pointed at you and whenever you close your eyes and nod off they alert the nurse to come in and check something....
Oh yeah, good luck with the procedure...

Good luck.
I rent to the ER Monday morning same symptoms and they found a 5mm stone. Sent me home. Waiting for a urology consult because this probably will pass on its own sometime in the next 6 weeks bullshit isn’t gonna cut it.

I've passed 3. First one figured out pretty quick what it was. toughed it out for 12 hrs before ER. IV morphine, something hurts somewhere but I don't care. Sent home with dilaudid. Passed in a couple days. Second one I was out of town in hotel. Drove home, self medicated, passed next day. Third was the doozy. 5mm, a month to pass. Got scanned and released. Prescribed 10mg dope plus Flomax. Great stuff, wish it had been around earlier. Some observations, Women who have given birth and passed kidney stones say they would rather go through labor again. Kidney stones are my argument against intelligent design. For the ordeal we should be getting kidney pearls. Finally We take being pain free for granted.

Hope you feel better. I had a 10.2 mm ureteral stone last year that they had to go in and break up. Toradol was the only thing that helped with the pain for me as well. A beautiful medication.
The worst of it is, as you know-at least for me, was the painful urination after. When I had the pleasure of having the tube removed from my right ureter a couple weeks after the removal of the stone, my urologist gave me a medication called Uribel. It eliminated almost all of the pain with urination almost instantly and only had to take it for 2 days. I wish I was given this after the initial procedure.

Prays sent. I hope that you feel better/relief soon.
Back February 11th I was on a field trip. I'm driving down the expressway and BAM! Extreme pain. Luckily it was fairly local and a drop-off. I dropped the kids and called my friend to meet me at the compound.
She takes me to the ER., after a boatload of morphine and a couple of other drugs I was at a level of pain that was Tolerable.
After CT scan I had a 9mm stone stuck. I couldn't get in for a Shock Wave Lithotripsy (SWL) until Friday 16th., I was out of work for almost 3 weeks.
