Up over $200 a share today. Big day.

Not enough, regrettably. It's still short of July high but a 7% pick up is nice. Funny how many times you think of adding on to a position and then talk yourself out of it for the time, then it's through the roof again to stupid high levels. Rinse, repeat. eta - I've always had this as buy and hold and ignore it mostly. So much so didn't even remember what I paid in 2012. Ummm, wow. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

I bought some shares (not enough in hindsight!) on March 23 for $1670 a share. About a week or so ago it briefly went above $3300 before falling back under $3000, and now it's moving back up. It seems to be contraindicating the wider market. Any sign that COVID shutdowns are stretching longer seems to boost AMZN.

if you own mutual funds / ETFs pretty likely you have a LOT of AMZN --------------------------------- Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

I owned a lot of it when I worked there. Sold the last bit in February when it hit 2K per share again. Then I had to use it to put a new roof on the house. Sigh...

Had $1000 of it in 2000 I think. Sold it after the dot bust and got out of individual stocks.

We bought and sold some over the years. I have some shares I bought at $1995 and some at $900. I’m happiest about picking up shares in both Visa and MasterCard right after their IPOs. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Yes, have been buying it for years, a little more each year. That and Apple. Both have done well for me. Buy stock in things that people use a lot.

If anyone has a young kid or baby, buy them at least 1 share of Amazon. Who knows how high it could go....or not.

Yes, these two are big gainers. I bought Amazon at $250 and Tesla at $194. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

Earnings are out. Woo! Up 5% after the bell.

goodheart |
AAPL was up 5% after the bell too, and I just unloaded 200 shares today. Oh well. Still have a bunch. I guess soon I'll have 4x as many shares. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Yes, AMZN report tonight was above my expectations; AAPL too. Was a little nervous about AMZN because they told us last quarter not to expect any earnings this qtr due to extra cost of doing business thru covid. They still blew earnings away. Also, FCC granted them approval for satellite internet network known as Kuiper. Link
