Ok, all you conservatives.

Has anyone read the new book of this name, and "A Rejection of Destructive Politics and a Return to Principle" by Senator Jeff Flake?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Isn't there a book by the same name written by a guy much more respected than Flake?

I started it, but the premise was as flakey as a croissant.

I tried to spare some typing and sacrificed meaning. Sorry.

The title is "Conscience of a Conservative - A Rejection of Destructive Politics and a Return to Principle" by Senator Jeff Flake.

No, and I'm unlikely to do so. At this point in history, I regard Flake's ideas as akin to unilateral disarmament in the face of the armies of Mordor.

I might consider a return to "Principle" when we have won a few rounds and the other side is tired of losing, but I don't think the moment is right to do so now.

I think it would reward them for carping and complaining. I think it would reward them for sticking it down our throats for the last 8 years.

I want to get some, and kick some.

I want them to feel beaten and humiliated.

I want revenge.

Flake is not a conservative, what would he know about their conscience?

Exactly. It's an election ploy.
He's up in 2018.

Flake is from Arizona.

McCain 2.0.

Run for election as a die hard conservative, when you get to Washington vote with the democrats, criticize Republicans and try your best to get the media to praise you as a 'maverick'.

Barf.

I'd rather read mattress tags than that garbage.

I have a real problem with a politician using terms like "conscience" or "principle(s)". With very few exceptions, such terms are completely foreign to politicians.
