Extended warranty From Knapp Chevrolet
Has anyone purchased an extended warranty from Knapp? I just want to verify they are selling actual GMC products.

I actually talked to Knapp about a GM extended warranty about a month ago. I priced a GM Protection Plan. I think if you specify what you want by that name you will get quotes for what you’re looking for.

The quotes they sent me appeared to be for a GM Plan, anyway. The plans I was looking at were $3000 and up, and I decided to just get rid of the truck when the factory warranty expires. I’m not really sure an extended warranty is much use around here. The nearest dealership (75 miles away) has an inept service department with extremely slow turnaround time.

Depends on which one you get. Most dealers usually offer both.

The true Chevrolet one is called the Chevrolet Protection Plan. You can use it at any GM service department and only GM service departments.
The non GM ones will let you fix it at most certified shops.

Check with your credit union as well. We are vehicle shopping and our credit union offers a WAY BETTER warranty than both the Ford and GM offering for a fair amount cheaper.

Looking at a 2020 Lincoln Navigator with 50k miles. The credit union is offering a bumper to bumper warranty, which includes all the electronics, screens, ECUs, including towing, roadside assistance, rental reimbursement. Only things it does not cover are wear items.
6 years or 120k miles on the odometer for $2500 and no deductible.

Not sure about their warranty products, but my friend bought his C8 from them & had nothing but good to say about them, sales & svc

Assuming this is Knapp in downtown Houston

I'm fairly sure I checked Knapp when I was looking for extended warranty to cover my GMC Denali HD. Ended up going with Smith Chevy warranty. Bought the platinum plan with zero deductible. Definitely paid for itself.

Knapp appears to be legit and they are selling the Chevrolet Protection Plan. They are in Adrian, MI.

I will check out Smith Chevrolet also.

I am pretty sure my CU doesn't sell such products. I have to go in tomorrow and will double check.

I really want the GMC plan.

I'm believe the same plans cover all GM brands. They're not specific to GMC, Chevrolet, etc. Select from platinum or silver plans.

Yes, the same plan covers the GMC models.

The slow turnaround time would be a problem, do any of them offer a free rental car?

Danica Patrick has been endorsing Endurance coverage on TV around here so long that it has become annoying. I would of thought it would be a short run when it first aired, I have my doubts on companies like that though.

Not at the nearest dealership. The problem is that they’re so backlogged in their service department that they’d need a fleet of loaner vehicles. If they do have a couple of loaners, someone else already has them borrowed.

That’s why I am looking at the warranty from the Credit Union. It includes rental reimbursement.
Buddy had a 6.2L Silverado that blew up. It was 6 months before they could get him a motor.
Also the reason I really don’t want to get another Suburban.

The Navigator has Cam Phaser issues but at least that is a couple day fix. Granted a costly fix but cheaper than a motor replacement.
Hence the reason I am shopping warranties in the process.
