The cop called in that the suspect was holding "some type of blunt object". If I was in that department, I'd want to beat the shit out of that guy for that. That's clear bullshit that could escalate a situation and put everybody at risk.

When I talk about detention, I'm talking about detention and not the "hey guy, could you come over here foe a sec?" encounter. When you are detained you are not free to leave. I didn't watch the entire video, but I saw enough.

This officer, if he lost his job over this incident, should have cut his losses WAY earlier before it got anywhere close to getting out of hand like if did. The norm for most cops in this situation would have been that this call would just be a stat on a daily report and not a career ender.
